Major League Baseball (MLB) Texas Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom has been placed on the disabled list.
On 6 April, the Rangers placed him on the 60-day disabled list, according to a statement from the club.
DeGrom started against the New York Yankees on 29 April and was pulled after feeling discomfort in his left arm while pitching in the top of the fourth inning. He was diagnosed with left elbow inflammation and placed on the 15-day disabled list a day later, but his return continued to be delayed.스포츠토토
With the 60-day disabled list move, DeGrom won’t be able to return until late June at the earliest.
DeGrom, who won the National League Cy Young Award in 2018 and 2019, is considered one of the best pitchers in the majors, but has been plagued by injuries, big and small, over the past three years.
Texas took a leap of faith by signing him to a five-year, $185 million contract after he became a free agent after last season, but he has been a disappointment to date.
DeGrom hasn’t lived up to his billing since the first season of his contract. He’s already been sidelined twice by injury, including before the start of the season with a sore side.
In six appearances this season, DeGrom is 2-2 with a 2.67 ERA.
Texas has thrived in DeGrom’s absence, going 38-20 and leading the American League West.
