Song Se-ra and Choi In-jeong compete in a battle of pride for the gold medal.

Song Sera and Choi In-jeong of the Korean women’s fencing team won the women’s fencing epee semifinals at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games held at the Hangzhou Dian’s University Gymnasium in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China on the 24th (Korean time) and advanced to the finals together.스포츠토토

First, Sera Song met Vivian Kong of Hong Kong in the semifinals and won 15-11. Kong, a powerhouse ranked second in the world, was considered a difficult opponent. However, Song Sera gave an overwhelming performance throughout the game and even defeated Kong’s chase at the end.

Song Sera already defeated Chinese ace Sun Yi-won, whom she met in the quarterfinals, 14-12. She eventually makes it to the finals by defeating strong players representing Asia.

Song Sera became the first Korean women’s epee player to win two gold medals at the World Championships held last year. In her first appearance at the Asian Games, she is eyeing her first gold medal as well.

‘Epee Empress’ Choi In-jeong won the subsequent semifinal match against Murzateva Dilnaz of Uzbekistan with a score of 15-12 and advanced to the finals. With this, she reached the finals again nine years after the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

Choi In-jeong is a veteran who has carried her Taegeuk mark for over 10 years and has been active in international competitions. But her gold medal from the Asian Games is yet to come. After winning her silver medal at the 2014 Incheon Games, she won a bronze medal at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Games.

With Song Sera and Choi In-jeong advancing to the finals, Korea was also able to secure gold and silver medals. Unfortunately, the men’s foil bowed its head as it was eliminated early, but the women’s epee saved its pride.
