Manchester City and Ilkari Gundogan have been linked with a new contract, but the player’s agent says nothing has been agreed.

City are just one step away from the ‘treble’. In the league, they pulled off a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Arsenal, and in the FA Cup final, they lifted the trophy with a 2-1 win over Manchester United. Now, victory in the Champions League final against Inter Milan will complete the second ‘treble’ for an English club after Manchester United’s 1998-99 treble.메이저사이트

The victory over United was crucial to City’s bid for the ‘treble’, with Gundogan at the centre of it. Gundogan joined City from Dortmund in the summer of 2016 and was Pep Guardiola’s first signing for the club. He struggled with injuries and acclimatisation early on, but soon established himself as a key midfielder.

Guendouane has been a consistent player since the 2017-18 season. He played around 30 EPL games each season, anchoring City’s midfield. City won the league title in four of the last five seasons, from 2017-18 to last season, thanks to Guindoan’s performances.

This season was no different. Guendouane made 31 league appearances as City pulled off a thrilling upset over Arsenal in the final game of the season. It didn’t end there. Starting in the FA Cup final against Manchester United, Gundogan scored a hat-trick and was a key contributor to the win.

With the Champions League final still to come, City are keen to re-sign Guendouane. Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media on Friday: “City’s offer to extend his contract is still valid. It is until the summer of 2024, with an option for a one-year extension. It was already proposed two weeks ago. We are waiting for Guindoan’s final decision.”

However, nothing has been agreed yet.

Guendouan’s agent told Romano exclusively: “Nothing has been agreed with Man City. Also, nothing has been agreed with any other club, the recent news is not true. Gundogan is focused on the Champions League final.”
