Si-Woo Kim and Byung-Hoon Ahn are tied for seventh place after the first round of the Charles Schwab Challenge on the PGA Tour ($8.7 million purse).
Kim carded five birdies and two bogeys for a 3-under 67 on the first day of play at Colonial Country Club (par 70, 7,209 yards) in Fort Worth, Texas (USA) on Saturday.
Byung-Hoon Ahn also carded five birdies and two bogeys to finish the first round in a tie for seventh place.
Both Kim and Byung-hoon began the day on the par-4 10th hole, where Kim reeled off three straight birdies from 10-12 and Byung-hoon reeled off four straight birdies from 11-14 to move into the top 10.메이저사이트
Kim continued his recent good form following a tie for second at the AT&T Byron Nelson two weeks ago, while Ahn is looking for his first top-10 finish in about a month and a half after a tie for sixth at the Valero Texas Open in April.
Harry Hall (England) carded eight birdies in an 8-under 62 to take sole possession of the lead.
Harris English (USA) is in second place, three shots behind Hall after a 5-under 65.
Four players, including Tom Hoogi (USA), are tied for third at 4-under 66, while a group of 15 players are tied for seventh, led by Si-Woo Kim and Byung-Hoon Ahn.
“Lesson Pro” Michael Block (USA), who played in a major last week at the PGA Championship and finished tied for 15th with one hole-in-one, was an invitee to the tournament but fell to the bottom of the leaderboard on day one.
Block made two birdies, but seven bogeys and three double-bogeys left him at 11-over-par 81 and tied for 120th out of 120 players, showing the high barriers of the tour.
He is four shots off the pace of No. 119 Rory Sabatini (Slovakia) at 7-over par.
Lee Kyung-hoon is tied for 22nd at 2-under par 68, while Lim Sung-jae is tied for 82nd at 2-over par 72.
