The Suwon Jang’an-gu Little Baseball Team won the 3rd Taebaek Mayor’s National Little Baseball Tournament, hosted by Gangwon Ilbo and organised by the Taebaek City Sports Association, Taebaek City Baseball and Softball Association, and the Korea Little Baseball Federation (President Yoo Seung-an).

Suwon Jangan-gu won 9-7 in the final against Namyangju City at Taebaek Sports Park on the 27th. In the first inning, Suwon Jang’an took a 3-0 lead thanks to a strong pitching performance by Lim Jun-seok and the batting line-up, but the Namyangju bats came alive in the fifth inning, tying the game at 3-3 and forcing extra innings.

Unlike the regular innings, the extra innings led to a fierce batting battle. Suwon Jang’an unleashed a barrage of hits to score six runs, while Namyangju responded with a three-run homerun, but failed to pull off the upset.메이저놀이터

“I would like to convey my joy to all the players who did a good job without any injuries during this tournament,” said Choi Jun-won, head coach of the Suwon Jangan-gu Little Baseball Team. “I think we won the championship as a result of doing a good job in defence without making any major mistakes during the game.

“We are grateful to all the officials of Taebaek City and the Korea Little Baseball Federation, and we hope to bring good energy to Taebaek and do our best in all the remaining competitions,” he added.
