Kim Yeon-kyung (35), the best star in women’s professional volleyball who has qualified as a free agent (FA), challenges another championship at Heungkuk Life Insurance. 

Heungkuk Life Insurance announced on the 16th that it had signed a one-year contract with Kim Yeon-kyung for a total compensation of 775 million won (annual salary of 475 million won + option of 300 million won). This is the best treatment in women’s professional volleyball ever. Kim Yeon-kyung qualified for free agency after the 2022-23 season, and she chose to stay after much consideration. 메이저놀이터

Kim Yeon-kyung said, “It was the first free agent in her life, so she had many thoughts, but her coach’s plan for the season was a big reason for this decision.” She continued, “The cheers of the fans who filled 6,000 seats last season are still vivid,” she said. 

Coach Marcello Abondanza (53, Italy), who leads Heungkuk Life until the 2024-25 season, said, “Kim Yeon-kyung is a volleyball player who has a good influence on the team in many areas, including not only technology but also mentality. I am happy that we can work together in the future.” 

After Kim Yeon-kyung started her professional career at Heungkuk Life Insurance in 2005, she played in overseas stages such as Japan, Turkey and China for 11 years from 2009, and she was selected as the FA’s ‘biggest fish’ this year. She scored the most among her domestic players with her 669 points in the 2022-23 season, and topped her offensive success rate (45.76%).
