Seong Yu-jin, who succeeded in her debut win at her Lotte Open in June of last year, grabbed her second KLPGA championship this year at the Doosan Match Play.

Sung Yu-jin is showing off her outstanding skills this year, including her runner-up in the LPGA Tour last month. Since then, she has shown improvement by consistently placing in the top 10, including 8th in the KLPGA Championship and 9th in the NH Investment & Securities Championship. On this day, Seong Yu-jin was named the 15th “Match Queen” of her tournament and received 225 million won in prize money and 60 grand prize points.

Seong Yu-jin met defending champion Hong Jung-min in the morning semifinals and won by recording 1 eagle and 3 birdies. Seong Yu-jin won the championship in the best condition, winning 7 consecutive victories without losing once from the 3 group stage matches. Park Hyun-kyung, who dealt with this, made her first birdie on the 7th hole (par 3) and chased it by a 2-hole car, but missed two consecutive birdie opportunities on the 8th hole (par 4) and had to be satisfied with the runner-up. Park Hyun-kyung has been unable to break her championship drought that has continued since her second consecutive victory at the KLPGA Championship in May 2021.
